Grass-free winter hardy cover crop mix

Profile

CoolSeason consists of freezing and hardy species. This preserves nutrients extremely well and efficiently prevents them from being washed out. The mixture is very structure-forming, promotes humus formation in an ideal way and is also ideal as a wild field cover crop.

Notes on planting as annual fallow grassland:

Grass-free greening:
As a fallow planting, the mixture manages to create a varied, lush stand. Cruciferous plants such as turnips and cabbage quickly cover the soil, suppress weeds and provide protection for legumes.
Hardy and frost-resistant species establish themselves in the year of sowing.
Depending on the intensity of the winter, the non-hardy species may freeze off, leaving e.g. incarnate clover, winter rye, turnip rape and winter vetch.


Notes on planting as a wild leys mixture:
- Creation of better, varied grazing for game
- Optimal cover and resting areas for the young to settle
- Turnip rape, rye, camelina and legumes are very tasty fodder.

  • Ideal for late sowing and cool regions
  • Very good erosion protection over winter
  • Highly suitable as set-aside or wildlife mixture
