A cover crop can therefore help to shade the soil during the main crop’s growing season when temperatures are high, and regulate temperature trends. SolanumPro combines various plant families and species. The different characteristics of the plants it contains can complement one another within the crop stand and influence the development of the soil-plant system during the growing season. Intercropping can also help to retain nutrients within the crop stand and reduce the risk of nutrient leaching. By covering the soil with vegetation, it can also help to limit erosion and the loss of soil structure.
