Forage value number 5

Red fescue is a relatively winterhardy species with low demands on the site. In agriculture, only the creeping Red fescue is used, as it forms dense swards and also tolerates heavy grazing. Usually, Red fescue is only used on sites where more demanding species, such as ryegrasses, do not grow. Very dry and nutrient-poor sites are avoided by this species.
