Characteristics
- Leaves: lanceolate, serrated or margins entire
- Height: up to 1.8 m
- Flowers: yellow, 2-3 heads stand together
- Root: Taproot with lateral roots, up to 30 cm deep

- Susceptible to Rhizoctonia and Sclerotinia → keep care of position in crop rotations
- Weed suppression
- Dies off reliably with frost
- Biomass rots easily (dark coloured)
