Two new cereal varieties registered in Austria

We are happy to announce two new registrations for DSV cereal varieties in Austria. Winter wheat THALAMUS received registration in December and will enrich the market in Austria with its benefits. As a modern milling wheat variety, THALAMUS combines perfectly agronomical, resistance and quality characteristics. THALAMUS is a short variety with good lodging resistance and medium ripening. He has a very high resistance-level against yellow and brown rust. With a medium ear density and high specific weight, it brings a very good flour extraction. First commercial seed will be available in autumn 2022.
Our second registration is the winter barley JULIA. After first registration in France, Austria is now the next country for this international six-row feed variety. JULIA delivers and outstanding and very trustful yield performance across different regions and conditions. With medium ripening and shorter plant height it has a suitable resistance package and very good sorting in kernel quality.
 
Another new fresh registration received DSVs international spring wheat variety AKVITAN in January 2022 in Poland and Czech Republic. As an early A-quality wheat with mid-early ripening, AKVITAN represents a modern high yielding and healthy variety type. A very stable yield performance across different regions is combined with an unique high kernel quality. First multiplications are already established across Europe.
