    The Landsberger Gemenge is born. To this day, this mixture is indispensable in forage production.

    Start of forage grass breeding.
  • 1951
    DSV is the largest forage seed production company with approximately 5,000 hectares.
  • 1965
    DSV merges with NFG and continues breeding programmes and well-known NFG varieties.
  • 1971
    LIPERLO – first variety approval of a forage grass variety after the resumption of breeding activities after World War II.
  • 1974 / 1975
    LIRASAND – first annual ryegrass for cover crop cultivation.

    Italian ryegrass REMY, crimson clover POPPELSDORFER are well known varieties.

    LIPONDO and LINOCTA - diploid varieties with high stigma density and suitability for bogs.
  • 1993
    LIQUATRO – DSV's first tetraploid perennial ryegrass variety.
  • 1994
    The COUNTRY forage construction programme is introduced.

    FABIO – internationally important italian ryegrass variety.

    LIPRESSO – hardy perennial ryegrass.

    Acquisition of Zelder and foundation of EuroGrass Breeding GmbH & Co. KG.

    ASTONENERGY – first Milk Index variety with superior digestibility.
  • 2011
    VALERIO – first perennial ryegrass variety with bog suitability recommended throughout Germany.
  • 2015
    Start of grass breeding cooperation with NPZ
  • 2016
    SCHWETRA – first tetraploid meadow fescue with high forage value.
  • 2018
    EXPLOSION – perennial ryegrass. High yield, suitability for bogs and best digestibility.
  • 2019
    SENDERO (diploid) and KINGSGREEN (tetraploid) - successful italian ryegrass breeds.
  • 2020
    RODlLIO – first DSV annual dipl. ryegrass to be approved in France.
2022
DSV produces more than 25,000 tons of forage seed.
