Founding years
Start of forage grass breeding
1934
In 1933, the rights of plant breeders were protected by law for the first time. This provided companies with financial security for their costly breeding work. This is when DSV began to venture into breeding. In 1934, the first breeding site was established in Landsberg.
This breeding field grew from 7,500 m² (1934) to 25,000 m² (1938) in four years.

White clover and timothy, alsike clover, red clover, perennial ryegrass, crimson clover and shaggy vetch were all cultivated there.
