Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne)

Diploid for moorland

Maturity Groupintermediate

ARELIO is the first diploid variety suitable for moorland to be entered in the Federal Plant Variety Registry for many years. ARELIO is a mid-early perennial ryegrass. The overall high yield is generated in particularly by the subsequent cuts (BSA grade 7), thereby making the variety very suitable for pasturing mixes. ARELIO has a markedly low inflorescence formation (BSA grade 3), which is rated positively when digestibility as a quality characteristic is considered. Furthermore, the variety's high yield is supported by good rust resistance (BSA grade 4). The first test results from the Netherlands confirm the excellent performance of the variety ARELIO, particularly regarding the yield characteristics when used for pasture and cutting, as well as its good hardiness properties.
