FIREWORK combines two nematode resistances in a single variety. It achieves top marks for resistance to beet nematodes and also to Meloidogyne chitwoodi. This nematode mainly affects potatoes and beetroot, but is also a problem in carrots, cucumbers, lettuce and other vegetables. FIREWORK has little tendency to bolt and produces more vegetative growth in the early stage than other varieties with this combination of resistance traits. A particular feature of this variety is its red roots.
