DSV merges with NFG, Start of turf grass breeding
1965
DSV merges with Nordwestdeutsche Futtersaatbaugesellschaft in Bremen (NFG) to form "Deutsche Saatveredelung, Lippstadt-Bremen GmbH zu Lippstadt".

NFG had also been founded in 1925 by Prof. Freckmann and Prof. Weber and had concentrated on breeding. Well known were the Perennial ryegrass NFG, meadow fescue NFG, white clover NFG and red fescue NFG-Theodor Roemer. The NFG breeding station was located in Klosterseelte (Oldenburg). This is also where the first polycross breeding of perennial grasses began and the first turfgrass breeding started.
